Head of Lending - Credit Union

A prominent Credit Union, dedicated to serving its community with professionalism and care, is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Lending. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of lending services, focusing on growth, innovation, and excellence.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Lending will lead the lending department, driving the development and execution of strategies that align with the Credit Union's mission. This senior leadership role involves enhancing the Credit Union's loan portfolio, ensuring top-tier service delivery, and leading a high-performing team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in guiding the credit policy and identifying opportunities to expand the lending function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the growth of the Credit Union's lending operations, identifying new lending opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on product innovation and profitability.
• Team Development: Oversee a dedicated team, managing recruitment, training, and performance to ensure exceptional service across the lending department.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full adherence to credit policies, regulatory standards, and risk appetite, while proactively managing lending risks and exposures.
• Member Engagement: Collaborate with marketing and other teams to ensure lending products meet member needs, driving satisfaction and fostering long-term member relationships.
• Financial Reporting & Performance: Regularly review the performance of lending products and prepare detailed reports for senior management, providing strategic insights to optimise growth.

Competencies Required:

• A qualification in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Proven expertise in credit analysis, credit underwriting, and risk management.
• Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and manage successful teams.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and a commitment to member-focused service.

Salary & Benefits: €70k to €90k plus benefits
