Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Dublin with hybrid working

A fast-growing, acquisition-driven professional services firm is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive financial strategy, optimise systems, and lead the seamless integration of acquired businesses.

This is a great opportunity for a Finance Director (FD) or Financial Controller (FC) from an SME who has corporate finance exposure and is ready to step into a CFO role in a high-growth, acquisitive environment.

The firm is scaling rapidly, leveraging acquisitions and technology to establish itself as a market leader.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support rapid growth and acquisitions.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to enhance financial and operational efficiency.

M&A and Integration

  • Oversee financial due diligence for acquisitions, ensuring strong commercial evaluation.
  • Lead integration projects, focusing on systems and processes to enable smooth onboarding of acquired firms.

Financial Systems and Process Optimisation

  • Drive financial systems improvements, including migration and automation for scalability.
  • Oversee Xero and other financial platforms, ensuring streamlined multi-entity reporting.
  • Continuously refine financial processes to support a fast-growing workforce.

Corporate Finance and Commercial Advisory

  • Provide financial structuring, forecasting, and tax efficiency insights to leadership.
  • Support funding, investment, and capital allocation decisions as the business scales.

Team Leadership and Growth

  • Manage and develop internal and outsourced finance teams.
  • Build capacity to support ongoing expansion, including strategic hiring and partnerships.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • FD or FC experience in a small to medium-sized business, ideally in a high-growth setting.
  • Corporate finance exposure, particularly in M&A, due diligence, funding, or commercial finance.
  • Strong track record in financial strategy, process improvement, and business scaling.
  • Experience with financial systems migration and optimisation, preferably Xero or similar platforms.
  • A commercially focused, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment.
