Senior Leadership Interim Role in Irish-Owned Growth Company | West Dublin (Exclusive Search)

We are supporting a highly regarded Irish brand who are hiring for a Key Strategic and Operational Interim Position in the FMCG/Retail/B2B sector. This is a well-established and growing Irish-owned company with a robust turnover exceeding €20+ million. The business is a key player in a dynamic sector, requiring experience in Retail, B2B, or FMCG. They are seeking an experienced and ambitious Interim Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function on a contract basis and join the Senior Leadership Team.

This is an immediate requirement, with a January start, to support the business during a critical period.

About the Role

This is a senior interim financial leadership position within the business, working in close partnership with senior management. The role is based in West Dublin and is offered on a contract/interim basis.

The Interim Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial discipline, driving improved processes, and supporting the business through a period of continued expansion. The position requires a hands-on, strategic operator who can successfully manage a small team while contributing directly to business strategy at board level.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Control: Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, reconciliations, and cash flows. Lead the preparation of year-end audit files and non-audit files, liaising directly with external auditors.
  • Budgeting & Analysis: Take full ownership of budgeting, expenditure control, and in-depth income and expenditure analysis and reporting.
  • Team & Process Management: Manage the finance team (including Accounts Payable/Receivable and Accounts Administrator). Lead projects focused on improving and developing the financial reporting process, leveraging strong IT and ERP Knowledge.
  • Strategic Contribution: Attend monthly board meetings and participate actively in strategy meetings and key decision-making.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage monthly and weekly payrolls, bank accounts, invoice processing, insurance renewals, and vehicle leasing. Also responsible for processing information on IT systems.

What We're Looking For

A proven, strategic finance leader with the commercial acumen and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Essential Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA).
  • Relevant Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) will be important, within a similar industry (Retail, B2B, or FMCG).
  • Strong IT & ERP Knowledge, with proven application of MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication capability, and a high ability to multitask.

Highly Desirable:

  • Highly motivated with an ability to take ownership and display strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
