Description

A leading Irish property development and construction group, headquartered in Dublin and delivering large-scale projects across Ireland and Europe, is seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its growing finance team.

The company delivers complex projects across residential, commercial, civil and infrastructure developments, managing projects from early design and planning stages through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Due to continued growth across multiple live projects and entities, an opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to support the finance function in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Reporting to: Finance Director


Responsibilities

  • Involvement in period-end close activities and preparation of management accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet across multiple entities and jurisdictions

  • Ensuring balance sheets are fully reconciled on a regular basis, including intercompany movements

  • Maintaining integrity of bank reconciliations, payroll oversight and cashflow monitoring across projects

  • Reconciling and reporting on key project and overhead costs within the P&L, with regular review meetings alongside budget holders and project leads

  • Continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls

  • Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process across business units and projects

  • Assisting in the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and liaising with external auditors

  • Financial KPI reporting across project streams and presenting monthly reports to the Finance Director

  • Timely provision of financial information for ad hoc requests from operational and commercial stakeholders

  • Participation in finance improvement initiatives and supervision of junior finance team members


Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 3+ years PQE in a similar environment

  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with project managers, commercial teams and senior management

  • Good commercial awareness with an understanding of project-based cost management

  • Ability to deliver accurate reporting within tight deadlines using strong numerical analysis

  • Experience building effective relationships across operational and finance teams

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
