Tax Advisor

Location: Dublin

A leading international engineering and construction organisation is seeking a Tax Advisor to join its head office team. The business delivers complex, large-scale projects across multiple sectors, including data centres, advanced technology, life sciences, and infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with VAT experience to join a growing tax function, with exposure to multi-jurisdictional projects and the chance to develop both technical and commercial expertise in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate multi-jurisdictional VAT returns, working closely with external advisors
• Partner with project and finance teams to provide guidance on VAT treatment across international construction projects
• Support the provision of ad-hoc VAT advice to management to enable effective planning across jurisdictions
• Liaise with external advisors where required to support technical queries and compliance requirements
• Assist with VAT reconciliations to the general ledger
• Support the preparation of year-end VAT audit schedules for external auditors
• Contribute to broader tax risk management activities within the team
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad-hoc projects
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal VAT training
• Support other duties as required within the tax function

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a VAT-focused role, or a role with significant VAT exposure
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous but not essential
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-tax stakeholders
• A proactive approach with an interest in developing within an international tax environment
